What is Integral Breathwork?

Integral Breathwork is a healing modality where a person learns to establish a conscious, connected breathing practice and integrate well-being across all domains of life. This modality of breathwork (Breathwave, Conscious Connected Breathing) is facilitated with the breather laying down, receiving verbal and hands-on support from a facilitator to promote healing by correcting unhelpful breathing patterns.

Patrick maintains a safe, trauma-sensitive space where dynamic, present-moment awareness can liberate old, unexpressed emotions and resolve limiting beliefs about one’s self. Any thoughts, feelings, memories, or images that arise during a session are integrated with the gentle nurture of connected breathing and present-moment awareness. New baselines of physical, emotional, and spiritual vitality are awakened through the breath and deepened through Patrick’s integrative approach to psychological well-being.

What is Breathwave?

Breathwave is a powerfully gentle approach to conscious connected breathwork.

Learning to bring present moment awareness to a conscious breathing practice activates and deepens sensitivity to our subtle (vibrational, energetic, emotional) bodies. The gentle approach to our innate subtle-sensing capacity via Breathwave safely expands our neural potentiality for wholeness and deepens our connection to consciousness itself. Any habitual resistance to the power of conscious awareness tends to show up as unwholesome patterns in participants' breathing pattern or body posture; a Breathwave facilitator helps identify and correct these imbalances, making easy the removal of barriers that keep us from sustained coherence with Breath/Spirit.

FAQ: How is Breathwave different than Holotropic breathwork?

The genesis and intention of Holotropic Breathwork (as pioneered by Stanislav Grof) was to achieve transpersonal states through sustained breath effort, often ignorant of the adaptive developmental strategies (e.g. over-efforting, obsessive control, diminishing self needs, etc.) that are stored in the breather’s body-mind and reflected as behaviors in their respiratory patterns. For the purpose of trauma-attuned care and optimal nervous system functioning, a more holistic somatic approach is required.

When we practice a more peaceful (but no less powerful) rhythm of connected breathing, we more effectively engage the parasympathetic nervous system and the under-expressed energies and healing potentials of its respiratory rhythm. In Breathwave, we train our facilitators to identify the common breath patterns (and possible corresponding psychopathologies) and more importantly how to correct those breathing patterns with hands-on guidance, direct coaching and affirmations that are attuned to the breather’s intentions. And surprisingly enough, this deeper experience of an open, peaceful breath rhythm is capable of the most profound transpersonal states of bliss, trauma release and ancestral healing.

100-minute Breathwave Session: $275

Breathwave Sessions are structured as a target-specific experience where the breather chooses one aspect of their life to bring healing and/or blessing upon (e.g. loss of a loved one, thematic struggle, new love, etc). Music, verbal and hands-on facilitation guides the breather into an alpha-state meditation where energetic resistance to healing/growth can be integrated with the higher vibrational resonance of the established intention.

There is one way of breathing that is shameful and constricted. Then, there’s another way; a breath of love that takes you all the way to infinity.
